The team focus on flawless animal care and welfare, in support of excellence in research projects and constantly seek to underpin welfare practices with science.
The role involves working as a Deputy Named Veterinary Surgeon under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act for a period of 7-8 months to cover maternity leave, starting in late August or early September. You will be part of an established team providing a clinical veterinary service and advice to colleagues from multi-disciplinary scientific teams. The ideal candidate will have a veterinary degree and clinical experience, and be eligible for membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Experience in laboratory animal medicine would be an advantage, although training will be given.
